1. Introduction & Scope
Welcome to Refind — Find What You Found Before ("Refind", "we", "our", or "us"), developed and operated by HeyIDB ("Developer"). Refind is a fast, offline-first personal bookmark and link organizer designed to help you save recipes, workouts, travel recommendations, videos, articles, and ideas from any application.
We believe that your personal bookmarks and notes belong exclusively to you. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict privacy practices and data protection standards when you use the Refind mobile application for iOS and Android. This document forms an integral part of our Terms of Service.
2. Offline-First & Local Storage Architecture
Refind is built from the ground up as a local-first application:
- On-Device Storage: All your saved bookmarks, URLs, web page titles, personal tags, and notes are stored entirely on your local device using high-performance local database storage (Isar database).
- No Cloud Sync Required: Refind does not require an account, username, or cloud synchronization to function. You can save, organize, and search bookmarks completely offline.
3. Information We Collect
We do not collect or store your personal bookmarks on any remote servers.
a. Information You Provide Directly
- Saved Content: URLs, notes, and tags you create. These remain stored locally on your device.
b. Anonymized Technical Data & Subscriptions
- In-App Purchases: If you upgrade to Refind Pro, purchase transactions are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription entitlement verification is handled securely via RevenueCat without collecting your personal bookmark content.
- Crash Reporting & Diagnostics: In the event of an unexpected crash, non-personally identifiable diagnostic logs may be collected to help us resolve software bugs.
Our Core Privacy Commitments:
- We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize your bookmark data.
- We do NOT track the websites or links you save for advertising.
- We do NOT embed third-party advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.
- We do NOT require personal account registration or sign-in.
4. User Data Control & Deletion
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have total control over it at all times:
- Delete Individual Items: Swipe or tap to delete any bookmark, tag, or note inside the app.
- Clear All Data: Open Refind Settings and select Clear All Data to permanently erase all stored records.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the application will immediately remove all local databases and cached files from your device.
